Here's what I'll A P P E A R to be
Fur and Markings: Silverblaze is almost exactly as her namesake implies. She is a delicate silver-grey tabby with darker gray tabby stripes. Her odd complexion of greys is rather striking and eye catching. The top of her muzzle, eyes, forehead and ears are all swathed in a mellow gray that expands down her back and over the tops of her legs and tail. Her paws, underbelly, chest and chin are covered instead with a lighter, silvery-grey and the top of her muzzle and the tips of her ears are almost white, as is the tip of her tail. Her tabby stripes are almost black, a wide yet attractive offset that completes her coat perfectly. They stretch from the back of her neck to the tip of her tail. Silverblaze also has a disarray of small little black speckles that are scattered on her muzzle, the back of her ears, her shoulder blades and her tail. Also, along the center of her back and stretching from her neck to her tail is a pure silver colored blaze that fans out into her tabby stripes. She has long black claws that are sharpened and narrowed at the points, making them lethal weapons. Her whiskers are black as well, and her entire appearance is offset by a pair of sparkling ice blue eyes. Her fur is fluffy, short and usually poorly kept as Silverblaze is usually trying to do two things at once, however when groomed properly she is quite a sight to see.
Body Shape and Size: Silverblaze has the appearance of being small and delicate, from the way she walks to the way she sits to the way she simply looks at you. She walks daintily on light feet, never making much noise if any at all. Her tail is usually tilted toward the ground or swept around toward her side, and she stands with most of her weight on one paw when relaxed. Her ears are usually tilted forward and head held high. Her body is built for flight, not fight. She has a lank, skinny, agile frame made completely out of lean muscle. She moves forward like a ghost and with the help of her appearance might truly be able to scare the daylights from someone at night. If anything she's underweight, forgetting to eat every once and a while when matters of more importance occur. She's smaller than the majority of the cats in her clan, yet she tries to seem taller by standing on the tips of her toes. She has well muscles shoulders and very strong back legs, making her faster than the wind when she runs. Even though she is short she is long, her body graceful as she moves. In all she is a very agile, lithe she-cat.
Others (scars, distinguishable features ect): Silverblaze has been nicked in both of her ears in various different skirmishes and battles, and has multiple scars running across her paws, chest, stomach and throat. The majority are concealed by her fur, but visible is a long angry lash across her belly and three small claw marks that were slashed across her side. She is also missing a claw on her left paw after a rather bad tear and allowing it to heal wrong. A new claw never grew out, but it wasn't that big a deal to her.
This is the R E A L me
Personality: A word to sum up Silverblaze? Loyal. She never lets anyone she cares about down, including her clan. She would give her life for her clan as much as any other loyal warrior would, and lives dutifully by the warrior code, challenging any cat who dares to break the guidelines Starclan has left for them. She adores her family more than anything else, completely protective and attached over her kin. Her family was always more tight-knit than others, and even when she and her siblings became apprentices they stayed close to their parents. As Silverblaze grew older her incredible sense of loyalty grew to bind her not just to her kin, but to the entire clan around her. Suddenly she would give every breath in her body, every beat of her heart to the clan that had watched over her and protected her and welcomed her among them from birth. She had never felt stronger about anything in all her life. Silverblaze is also extraordinarily loving, something she isn't shy about showing. She showers her family with kind words and affection, as well as her friends. Yet most of that energy is directed toward her clan and her Nieces and Nephew. She adores the younger ones, always looking out for them with every fiber in her body. She has a strong sense of courage and bravery and isn't afraid to do what is right. She sticks up for her beliefs and for other cats who are being wronged. She has a very strong, good heart and uses it to help her clan and anyone in need of her help. She has an excellent sense of right and wrong, and will do everything in her power to correct a poorly intentioned warrior. She has a big heart that she's willing to share, but when no one needed it she dedicated it to her clan. She is very intelligent and wise, and often offers words of wisdom to all who wish to hear. Silverblaze can be very stubborn, hot headed, aggressive, ambitious, impulsive and caught in her own thoughts. She sometimes suffers when it comes to listening to others and there ideas, and hates to be told she's wrong. She loathes arrogance, and has trouble getting along with cats of that nature. She seems to carry the weight of the world on her shoulders, and counts herself as the unluckiest she-cat to ever live. She can fall into depression every once and a while, and no one knows why. When angered she is vicious, angry and a fighting machine. She speaks her mind without fear of others opinions and tells it how she sees it. She is very fierce, strong and independent. She tries to be as selfless as possible, but sometimes finds herself stumbling towards selfishness when it comes to the well being of her clan versus another. Silverblaze is very feisty and fiery as well, and is filled with a burning passion and desire to do good. All in all she is a young warrior striving for the best for her clan, family and self.[/blockquote]
Wants: Safety for her clan, family and self, love, kits, the best for those close to her, a strong, thriving Moonclan, a different life, her own happiness as well as her clans, someone who loves her like she loves others, a long life for her leader.
Fears: Destroying her clan through her leadership, being alone for the rest of her life, being abandon, death, death for her clan, failing her clan, leading Moonclan in the wrong direction, failing as a deputy, failing as a warrior, losing sight of herself and who she is, being unable to protect those she loves.
Goals : To be a strong, successful deputy and leader, to find a mate and have kits, to make Moonclan strong under her leadership
Skills: An extraordinary fighter and an average hunter, she is a strong and ready defender of Moonclan. She is very intelligent and has natural teaching and leading abilities. She is very fast, faster than the average cat with her lithe build and has very keen eyes.
Likes: Running, fighting, teaching, her clan, friends, family, her apprentices, Nightwhisper, hunting, relaxing, talking, training, her siblings, fresh robin
Dislikes: Arrogance, death, overly ambitious cats, blood lust, pointless battles, starvation, leaf-bare
Reason for taking high-position: Silverblaze really hopes she can help her clan. She has dedicated her entire life to it in hopes of bringing Moonclan to glory. She wants to be part of Moonclan's legacy. All in all she was expected to become deputy from her hard work, endless loyalty and complete dedication to her clan. When the former deputy retired to become an elder, no one was surprised when Silentstar named her as deputy. She already had the support of the majority of the clan behind her, and her good intentions and fiery nature pulled her through to become the new deputy of Moonclan.
Take a look into my P A S T:
History:
Silverkit was born last in Dappleflame's large litter of four kits, the youngest, tiniest and weakest during one of the harshest leaf-bares Moonclan had ever experienced. For a long time it was debated if the little she-cat would survive, when even her older, stronger siblings where struggling to survive and avoid contracting white and green cough. However, Dappleflame and Sparrowstep were kind, caring and nurturing parents that weren't going to roll over and let there young daughter die. So with the help of the herbs, prey and love Silverkit grew to be just as strong as her siblings. Her oldest brother was Foxkit, then came her sister Mintkit and finally her second oldest brother Duskit. She was sheltered well by her siblings too, they always included her in their games and allowed her to sleep in the middle of the pile when it came time to rest, the safest and warmest place among them. Naturally the four siblings grew increasingly close to one another, always having each others backs and always protecting and defending each other from other cats. They became notoriously infamous among Moonclan for their shenanigans however, at one point they even tried to tie to warriors tails together. As they aged toward six moons they became increasingly reckless, and the clan eagerly looked forward to the day the tricksters would be apprenticed and have the clan to focus on. During the time the siblings made good friends with the other kits in the nursery, especially two older brothers named Nightkit and Streakkit. They were six moons already, and the entire nursery buzzed with excitement at the prospect of the two kits finally being apprenticed.
For Silverkit though, the two moons that she would be apart from the brothers would be forlorn. She had grown close to them, even developing a crush on Nightkit who remained as oblivious as ever. To him they were close friends, nothing more. He card for her, loved her even but in the wrong way. Of course, as a kit, she got over it quickly. Love was something foreign and odd and unfamiliar, so when it wasn't returned it wasn't that big a deal to her. She lived happily with her siblings, rough housing with them and play fighting. What she lacked in size she made up in strength, determination and skill. The entire clan seemed to understand she would be an elegant fighter, gifted with the art of defense and attack. The family was happy, at ease and peaceful as Dappleflame and Sparrowstep attempted to raise the rowdy youngsters. The result was four proud, elegant and honorable kittens ready to be apprenticed and start on their journey to becoming full members of Moonclan. The parents proudly watched as their kittens received there apprentice names and mentors, as did the entire clan who had grown attached to the infamous four. Foxkit became Foxpaw, Duskkit became Duskpaw and Mintkit became Mintpaw. And, of course, Silverkit became Silverpaw. She was to be mentored by a darker, short tempered and easily frustrated older tom named Cedarsmoke. He wasn't far from retiring to the life of an elder and though he had been well respected and popular in his younger days, his aggressive attitude was disliked by the clan. So it was a great shock to find that sweet, loving, tiny little Silverpaw was going to be apprenticed to the large, angry, cruel tom that was far past his due date, especially when the younger, fitter, kinder tom SpeckledCloud was expected to take on the young kit. However, SpeckledCloud was chosen to mentor Duskpaw instead, leaving Cedarsmoke for Silverpaw. Yet mentor and apprentice were soon to prove the clan wrong.
It was the very first training session that got the ball rolling. Cedarsmoke wasn't shy on expressing his impatience for her scrawny form, ranting on to the small apprentice on how he wished he could have mentored Nightpaw instead, a tom with some real fire and attitude instead of a weak little "she-kitten" as he called her. While other warriors reacted in horror at the treatment of Silverpaw, the tiny apprentice just stood quietly until her mentor was done and then asked what they would be training in. This went on for a while, little Silverpaw keeping her temper until a day of fight training. She was training with Nightpaw, attempting to learn a bellyrake when Cedarsmoke commented on how sloppy her poise was compared to Nightpaw, and how she was a disgrace to the art of fighting, that she should have chosen to be a medicine cat with her tiny little claws. It was almost ironic how quickly the kind tempered youngster could turn those delicate claws into vicious weapons, attacking her mentor. Nightpaw, as well as his mentor, was shocked at her behavior. However Cedarsmoke did nothing to stop her retaliation except join in, battling her with advanced moves far beyond her level. However she was a skilled fighter, operating on the perfect combination of mind and instinct. To everyone's surprise, in the end tiny Silverpaw had the large tom pinned under her, her tail lashing and eyes filled with fire. Instead of anger though, Cedarsmoke had grinned and pushed her off him, scrambling to his feet. "Now that's what I've been waiting for, she-kitten. That was exceptional." He had told her with actual pride in his voice. After that, the pair got along excellently. Silverpaw excelled under his training, the tom bringing out her passionate, fiery side. He taught her self control, discipline and self respect, things she never could have or would have taught herself. She was one of the clan's best apprentices, having blossomed under Cedarsmoke's careful direction. His favorite quote "A star does not stop shining simply because it goes unnoticed" became words to live by, as did "Problems are like the wind. You can tell it to stop blowing, but it never will. There are short periods of calm, but it always picks up again." As Cedarsmoke shared his wisdom with her, she taught him a thing or two as well. One was to stop caring what others think about. As Silverpaw bustled from an unlearned apprentice into a hardened warrior, she was almost sad she would be leaving the teaching paws of Cedarsmoke. She stood proudly of course beside her mentor as she was announced Silverblaze, a name Cedarsmoke had requested by himself. When she asked why, he responded with "Because you have stirred this clan to passion. You, single handedly have started a fire in the heart of Moonclan, one that will blaze for eons to come." She was beyond touched, and the two said a sorrowful goodbye. The entire clan screamed her name welcomingly, warming her heart. Her siblings however, watched enviously. As did Nightpaw and Streakpaw. Even though they were all older than her, she had been made a warrior first. It was no surprise, she was a brave and noble apprentice who worked diligently and obediently, constantly following the warrior code. Her parents had never been prouder. Her siblings and fellow apprentice's however, were never more jealous.
As Silverblaze went from apprentice to warrior, Cedarsmoke retired to the elders den. She shouted his name as loud as she could, allowing it to ring throughout the clan until it reached him. He had watched her with a kind glint in his eyes, shooting her a knowing smile. Not a moon later he passed on to join the ranks of Starclan. It was a time of deep sorrow for Silverblaze that wasn't made easier by her siblings. They more or less shut her out from envy, refusing to talk to her. To her great dismay, so did Nightpaw. The only apprentice that would even look at her was Streakpaw, who remained a close friend and was her only comfort. It would be a short time before the two brothers would join her in the life of a warrior, as Nightwhisper and Streakclaw. She cheered for them as loudly as any other cat, and had the honor of collecting them after their vigil, showing them to there nests. Nightwhisper warmed up to her once more it seemed. Now that he too was a warrior he could forget his envy. They once again became close friends, often hunting and patrolling together. Usually Streakclaw was with them. They had more fun than Silverblaze had ever had in her life, and for a while she was happy. She found herself falling for the dark colored warrior as well. He was charming and kind and polite and intelligent and brave and extremely handsome. It seemed all the young she-cats fawned over him, and Silverblaze was one of them. She spent so much time obsessing over Nightwhisper that she never noticed the one tom fawning over her. Streakclaw's romantic attempts went unseen and would continue to be for moons to come. A moon later her siblings joined her as Foxstripe, Duskgaze and Mintfrost. As the brothers had, they seemed to warm up to Silverblaze as well, becoming close once more like when they were kits. And it finally seemed that Nightwhisper was returning her feelings. They spent more time alone, talking about more serious things. And Nightwhisper would do sweet things, kind things. Compliments were thrown, flowers were picked, eyes would wander. And Silverblaze loved it. The two were days away from becoming mates when Silverblaze was given her first apprentice, Tawnypaw. Suddenly she didn't have time to spend ambling around with Nightwhisper. She had an apprentice to train, a clan to protect and feed. Despite her love for Nightwhisper, she was forced to place him in the backseat as she trained Tawnypaw. Silverblaze adored the young apprentice who was so eager to learn. She passed on all of Cedarsmoke's wisdom, as well as her own, and Cedarsmoke's old nickname for her resurfaced and found it's way onto Tawnypaw. As the young apprentice grew towards a ready warrior, her relations with Nightwhisper crumbled. And finally, one night she was told by Nightwhisper that he had taken her sister, Mintfrost as a mate. Silverblaze was absolutely crushed by the revelation. She grew sickly, spending over a half moon in the medicine cat's den. When she finally resurfaced she found Mintfrost pregnant with Nightwhispers kits. And so, Silverblaze began to pull way from the group of her siblings and the two brothers. Open resentment grew for Mintfrost and Nightwhisper as well as any and everyone else. Even Tawnypaw felt the affects of her mentors anguish. When she tried to help, she was faced with an angry fire that shocked the young apprentice. A large wedge was driven into their relationship. Later, it would be patched up, yet Tawnypaw's complete adoration of Silverblaze would never be the same. Before any of the other warriors in Silverblaze's little group received apprentices Tawnypaw was made a warrior. Silverblaze watched ecstatic as Tawnypaw became Tawnystreak, a gifted warrior whose skills had been unmatched by the other apprentice's. Her heart swelled with pride as the clan cheered for her apprentice's name, and Tawnystreak thanked her grandly before departing for her vigil. Little talk was shared between the two after that, much to Silerblaze's remorse, an she found herself alone for the first time in her life.
Even Streakclaw was somewhat withdrawn as Silverblaze came back down from the high of being a mentor. It pained her to watch Nightwhisper with Mintfrost, still oblivious to Streakclaw. Foxstripe went on to get a mate as well, and in great surprise Silverblaze welcomed Tawnystreak to the family. Duskgaze had been granted an apprentice, becoming the envy of the little warrior group as Silverblaze once had, but he was too busy training Rainpaw to notice. Silverblaze was left with Streakclaw and no one else. Of course, it wasn't terrible. He was kind and sweet to her, and she liked that about him. He was a calico as well, an odd combination of white and black and orange that was rather attractive on the tom. The she-cats weren't shy about voicing their love for the tom either, but instead of jealousy the oblivious Silverblaze encouraged Streakclaw to find someone for himself. He would just look at her, amused, and change the subject. This continued for some time, and even Silverblaze admitted she grew closer to Streakclaw. However their relationship came to a squealing halt as Mintfrost gave birth to her first litter. She had two kits, both beautiful. The first was a female that resembled Mintfrost spot on, from her creamy marble coat to her dazzling mint green eyes. She was dubbed Lostkit by her father, and odd name that Silverblaze and Mintfrost would never understand. They accepted it nonetheless, and the little kitten was adored by Silverblaze. The second kit was a tiny black tom that resembled his father, his entire frame swathed in darkness. Yet his eyes as well where mint green like his mothers. Mintfrost named him Sootpaw, a fitting name for the little kit. Suddenly, Silverblaze had something to do. Streakclaw was left in the dust as Silverblaze obsessed over her niece and nephew, always around the little kits. Through the process she repaired her damaged relationship with her sister, and the two grew close once more. Nightwhisper however remained as cold as ever, never shy about his open dislike for Silverblaze and what she had done to him. And even though she hated Nightwhisper for hating her, she still felt love for him. She often found herself fantasizing about Lostkit carrying her grey tabby coat instead, and for both of the kits to carry her startling blue eyes. And Nightwhisper would sit beside her and nuzzle her and talk about how much he loved her and how proud he was of their kits. She was pulled away from her niece and nephew though, as well as Mintfrost and Nightwhisper when she was awarded her second apprentice. This time Streakclaw stood beside her, and to Silverblaze's pride so did Tawnystreak. They were to mentor a pair of three siblings. Streakclaw was to mentor Kestrelpaw, a sweet little russet colored female, and Tawnystreak was selected to mentor Finchpaw a flame colored tom with a fiery attitude. Silverblaze approved of the choice, Tawnystreak would balance out the stubborn warrior well. As for Silverblaze, she would mentor Rowanpaw. He was a tortoiseshell, his coat marred by blacks, greys and oranges, and he had an ego a mile wide. It was a challenge Silverblaze excepted though, and looked forward too even.
The first day of training mentor and apprentice clashed. They were out on a tour of the territory with Streakclaw and Tawnystreak as well as their apprentices when Rowanpaw crossed onto the Dawnclan border purposefully. Of course a patrol just happened to be coming by and Silverblaze was forced to save her apprentice's pelt from being flayed. And when she tried to figure out what on earth had caused the apprentice to act in such a manner, he told her he simply wanted to know what would happen. At first she was going to really give it to her apprentice for his insolence. However, the wise words of Cedarsmoke came back to her. "You can't teach a fish to fly just like you can't teach a bird to swim." And she understood how she would mentor her apprentice. It was clear to her that they were indeed as different as the bird and the fish, but this bird now knew just what to dish out to the tom. Instead of crushing his curiosity she taught him restraint and control and respect in simple ways. She would show him the delicacies of nature, the peaceful essence of a warm new-leaf day, and he would understand the fragile balance between peace and war. Instead of ruining his self confidence she taught humility and humbleness, turning him from a hot headed young apprentice to a respectable, polite young warrior. She taught her fish to swim. It pleased her as well to see how gracefully Tawnystreak handled her arrogant apprentice. She liked to see that Cedarsmoke's wisdom would continue to make it's rounds through the generations, and was more thaa happy to watch the product of her teachings learn a young stubborn tom the ways of a warrior, just as she had so many moons ago. Rowanpaw continued to learn effectively and efficiently much to Silverblaze's satisfaction, and for the second time in her life she stood with pride and watched her young apprentice become a fresh and eager new warrior under the name of Rowantail. Unlike with Tawnystreak, Rowantail had taken more time and had recieved his warrior name after Kestrelflight and Finchfur. Silverblaze had used it as part of his training in acceptance as a test for the apprentice to pass, and when he did with flying colors he was quickly made a warrior. The clan welcomed him as they did with every new warrior, their cries echoing throughout the territory as they welcomed a new member to the clan.
After Rowantail things really settled down. Nightwhisper was granted his first apprentice, a sweet tempered little thing named Petalpaw. It still warmed her heart to watch the way Nightwhisper looked at the little rose colored apprentice. It was a look of pride, adoration and gratitude. Petalpaw and Nightwhisper were a perfect combination and Petalpaw was an excellent learner. Silverblaze could whole fully say she was filled with happiness for the both of them as Petalpaw became Petalnose and Nightwhisper sat beaming and chattering excitedly to all who came near. He even accepted her congratulations, pressing his muzzles to hers with the first sign of affection towards her in 12 moons. It sparked those old feelings of love inside of her, but she pushed them away. Nightwhisper had two kits and was mates with her sister. She had no business stirring up old feelings. Once again, Silverblaze was left with nothing but her clan. While everyone bustled around her busily she sat and repeated the same steps day after day. Until, that is, she finally started to notice Streakclaw. They had gone on a walk by themselves, talking about their apprentices that had become warriors and kits and family and life and every serious topic that seems to come up in discussions. And of course, how Streakclaw had never found a mate came up. He just shrugged at her, glancing away for a while before responding, telling her that he had loved a she-cat for a very long time but she had never noticed. And then everything suddenly clicked for Silverblaze. And she felt the deep fire she had felt for Nightwhisper rise up inside of her once more as she touched her muzzle to Streakclaws, inching closer to the tom. "She noticed everything." She told him, and the affection and joy and happiness had flooded through the tom in a way that had made Silverblaze want to cry. Here had been a perfect, wonderful tom that had been waiting for her his entire life, and she had been stuck on his brother. Within days the two had become a mated pair. The clan easily expressed it's joy for the two, loving the fact that the pair had finally opened their eyes to each other. Yes, everyone congratulated them. Except Nightwhisper. He was furious, and not even at his brother, but at her. He didn't want her toying with his brother as she had with him, didn't want Streakclaw hung up over her like a helpless little kit. Silverblaze was shocked of course. She loved Streakclaw at this point, her adoration for the calico as strong as that she had for Nightwhisper. So she just looked at him in disbelief and ignored his words. Life with Streakclaw was happy, peaceful, easy. They talked about having kits, mentoring apprentice's, watching their kits grow, family. All of that good stuff your suppose to talk about with your mate. Yet their happiness was short lived. They were hunting only a short distance from a thunderpath when Silverblaze caught the scent of a pheasant. Such a meal could not be ignored. She had chased it like a rabid animal, not thinking twice when it was herded into the thunderpath. She never saw the car. All she saw was Streakclaw leaping toward her and all she felt was his large, muscled frame barreling into her own and knocking her out of it's path. When she woke up she was in the medicine cat's den, and Streakclaw was dead.
Silverblaze stopped talking to every and anyone. She just stared forward with a glazed expression on her face. She didn't react as Mintfrost pleaded with her, didn't flinch as Nightwhisper snarled at her. For a brief moment she felt a small surge of life as she watched Lostkit and Sootkit become paws, and felt a dull ache of pride as she watched Rowantail step forward to mentor Lostpaw and Petalfur step forward to mentor Sootpaw. After that, she was back to being dead. She stopped eating, stopped drinking and tried to stop breathing to no avail. At one point the medecine cat was forced to attempt to force feed her. The result was an vicious, shrieking and fiery she-cat that welded a long, sharp pair of claws threateningly. The entire clan tried to calm her down, but it was Nightwhisper's angry voice that calmed her down into her usual dull ache. She felt completely and utterly useless to everyone and everything. The clan was at loss on how to fix their once star warrior, and everyone but Moonclan's leader failed to come up with an appropriate idea. He confided in Silverblaze a third apprentice, Nettlepaw. She reminded Silverblaze of Cedarsmoke to an exact point, and Silverblaze would often joke around with her apprentice, calling her Nettlesmoke instead of Nettlepaw. The young apprentice brought something inside of Silverblaze to life again. The clan rejoiced, and even Nightwhisper was able to offer her a tight smile. Training the apprentice was absolutely effortless. It was enjoyable and relaxing and fun to teach such an intelligent she-cat, and the two grew extremely close. In turn Nettlepaw taught her things as well, things she had never thought about. Like in finding hope and finding love for her clan to help get over Streakclaw. Nettlepaw was far ready to become a warrior earlier than the rest, but the Moonclan leader would not allow such a young apprentice to become a warrior so soon. Days before her ceremony however, Nettlepaw and Silverblaze were out in the woods, hunting and having fun when Silverblaze caught the scent of a fox. It was close to camp, and the two she-cats grew alarmed. Instantly they ran off to investigate, and came across the fox sniffing around far too close to camp. Without hesitation, Nettlepaw attacked. Silverblaze was shocked and dazed by her brave apprentice's reaction, and by the time she came to her aid it was too late. The fox landed a killing blow to the back of her neck before Silverblaze could chase it off. The familiar agony that had filled Silverblaze during Streakclaw's death returned, intensifying this time. This was different. She had been trusted with the responsibility of keeping the young warrior safe, and she had failed. Failed herself, failed her clan and most certainly failed Nettlepaw. She returned to her former lifeless state, and the clan seemed to lose hope for the young warrior who had brought so much to her clan.
This continued for moons, and no amount of pleading from anyone would break her from her dull, lifeless cycle. Until, of course, Tawnystreak had her first litter, Foxstripe's first kittens and Silverblaze's second niece. Willowkit was a fluffy grey tabby that bore a startling resemblance to her aunt. As she had with Lostpaw and Sootpaw, she adored the little kitten, spending time with the fuzz ball and telling her stories and teaching her a beginner battle move or a hunting crouch. And it was around this time that Silverblaze truly began to feel alone. She no longer had Streakclaw with her, and everyone else seemed busy with their own lives. Foxstripe had Tawnystreak, Duskgaze had recently taken a mate of the name Raincloud and Mintfrost and Nightwhisper had each other. Silverblaze felt utterly useless. And that was when she began to focus completely on her clan. She constantly patrolled and hunted, rarely resting to the point where she was ordered too. She became the clans confident, cats often seeking advice and help from her. As she worked harder for her clan she earned her clans approval and support. It was a known fact that the current deputy Rabbitleap was going to retire, and everyone expected Silverblaze to take his place. It was not to be though, as an older and more experienced female by the name of Silentwish was granted the role of deputy. Of course Silverblaze was unhindered, she hadn't wanted to be deputy in the first place. All she truly wanted was for the crushing ache in her chest to go away. Despite her better judgement, she started watching Nightwhisper again. At first it was occasional and rare, but eventually the majority of her day became watching the dark colored warrior. And it hurt Silverblaze. Hurt to see him with Mintfrost, hurt to see him with Lostpaw and Sootpaw. Hurt to see him with anyone but herself, the one cat he had avoided the majority of his life. The clan leader went to join the ranks of starclan within five moons, and Silentwish was pronounced Silentstar. This time, when moon high approached, it was Silverblaze who was named as deputy. She was shocked of course, she didn't think she would ever deserve such a position. But she accepted grandly, and found to her great joy that the ache started to go away as she focused her efforts and love into her clan instead of certain individuals. She was a likable, easy to get along with deputy who was striving to bring glory to her clan, and her clanmates supported her. Even Nightwhisper had offered her a firm congratulations. Silverblaze was happy again for the first time in moons. Now she spends her days protecting and defending Moonclan, willing to give her last breath to her clan. She will never stop fighting for and loving Moonclan.Just as she will never stop fighting for and loving Nightwhisper.
