That waiting for StarClan to help you was the foolish thing to do, you had to help yourself.

Appearance |
Build;
Birchflame has inherited, the commonly passed down, strong shoulders of his family. Most of the brown tom's muscle mass are in his shoulders, these powerful shoulders are a powerful weapon that allow him to have the upper hand in many battles of strength. Birchflame has a big, strong body that is worn down with scars from the many battles he has participated in. Sometimes his larger body and good strength is the reason for his scars. Sometimes Birchflame can get over confident in battles and take risks, not caring about harming himself. None of these scars are very recent and most were obtained during apprenticeship.
From head to toe
Eyes;
Birchflame has hazel-green eyes. The dominant hazel color can sometimes take a honey like look when in the sun. The green color is seen only in flecks. Like his sisters, Birchflame was born with almond shaped eyes, very rounded in the middle but sharp at the edges.
Nose;
Like the rest of his body, Birchflame's nose is scarred. In one of his first training sessions, Birchflame spoke back to his mentor who in turn slashed his nose open. After he wasn't allowed to see the medicine cat, but fight through the blood on his nose. His mentor told him to get used to scars and blood.
Muzzle;
Birchflame's muzzle is an orange-brown color that fades into white, that white fur travels down to his belly where it slowly fades to red-ish brown again.
Fur;;
Almost all of Birchflame's fur is a red-brown color. The tabby markings throughout his body only fade out around his muzzle where his fur turns into a snow white that eventually ends around his belly.
Personality |
Protective;
It comes from having two sisters to look after. When the three were kits, Birchflame always took it upon himself to take care of his two sisters. Many cats of MoonClan found this amusing because he was usually the one to get them into trouble in the first place. The care-free little kit didn't seem to notice this and became almost obsessively protective of the two.
As they grew older, Birchflame watched out for his sisters and always felt obligated to protect them from harm. The young apprentice had didn't realize that at some point in growing up, one of his sisters decided that she could look after self and became increasingly annoyed when Birchflame decided that it was his time to protect her yet again.
Charming;Birchflame has a way with words and makes friends within his own clan very easily. He can charm his way out of doing many tasks, including border patrol, by trading with other warriors or promising to do something for them. Despite hating members of the other clans, Birchflame hides it well by using his charm. He plays nice with the cats despite knowing that they may meet one day in battle.
Jealousy ProneThe brown tom has a tendency to be jealous of others. This trait isn't something he is proud of but he is unable to control it. If another cat has something better, whether it be a piece of prey or a leading place on a patrol, Birchflame will get jealous. He wishes he could help it, but he can't. He even gets jealous when another cat is taking up his sister's time. He feels like he should protect Russetcloud and Cloveleaf whenever possible and this includes friendships and relationships that end badly.
ObsessiveWhen Birchflame finds something he is bad at, he will obsessively work at it until he is better. This was the case with his hunting. When he had the time and energy to hunt he would work at it for hours, ignoring exhaustion in order to catch prey for his clan.
History |
Kithood;
Birchflame spent most of his innocent kithood getting into trouble with his two sisters. He was the the one to take his sister's well thought out plan into action. Birchflame was quick to convince his sisters to join him in games or on adventures around the camp.
Birchflame could often be found with the elders. He loved to listen to the great stories of MoonClan and would give all of his attention to the elder telling the story at the time. He would often return to the den to hear the story again just in case he got something wrong. He wanted the image to be perfect. His favorite were the war and battle stories. He'd heard each of them several times by the time he was apprentice.
Unknown to him, all of these stories about the 'evil' other clans has prejudiced him against them. He now, as an apprentice, cannot trust a cat from another clan and has been almost brainwashed into thinking they're all lying cheaters.
Apprenticeship;
Birchflame was given the toughest mentor there was. He was cold and unforgiving. A ruthless fighter to the bone. He and his mentor focused on fighting, it was always top priority. Sadly, Birchflame's apprenticeship was lopsided. He was trained into a perfect fighter but given very poor training on hunting. Every day his mentor would take him into the training section of the territory and work him past exhausting. Because of this, Birchflame grew quickly and his already strong shoulder muscles were put to use.
During his assessments, Birchflame would pass the fighting section way above every apprentice, sometimes surpassing some of the warriors. His mentor worked him for hours on end with no rest. Despite Birchflame's hard work and excellent execution of battle moves, his mentor would always find something to complain about. Birchflame worked and worked, trying to prove to his mentor and clan that he wasn't as worthless has his mentor said he was.
Without realizing it, Birchflame was becoming as ruthless as his mentor and this was proven in his last assessment before becoming a warrior.
Birchflame was on his hunting assignment, not doing too bad despite his lack of training, when he came across a loner. His first instinct was to attack, and he did. Birchflame faught like a warrior, the loner was no match. Soon, the loner was badly injured and Birchflame was about to stop, he had taught the cat its lesson and it would never come back. Birchflame got up to let the cat go when his mentor came out of the shadows. For a long few minutes his mentor convinced him that 'teaching this cat a lesson' was the wrong thing to do. Once a cat trespassed it would always come back. It was here to steal food from MoonClan. Birchflame was edged into killing this cat with a blow that was forbidden by all clans. His bite to the loner's neck killed the tom instantly.
Afterwords his mentor said he was finally a true warrior of MoonClan, he was finally proud of his apprentice. Despite the praise from his mentor, Birchflame felt sick to his stomach. It was then that Birchflame realized what he had become and vowed to never kill a cat again. He buried the loner and asked for StarClan's forgiveness for many moons. He still hasn't forgiven himself for what he has done as an apprentice.
During his fighting assessment Birchflame fought against another apprentice of MoonClan, both ready to become warriors. Birchflame lost it in this fight and turned into his mentor for a few short moments. When Birchflame finally snapped out of it he realized that he had seriously harmed the other apprentice. Horrified, Birchflame watched the apprentice get carried back to camp where he spent the next quarter moon recovering from his injuries. Despite harming the other apprentice, Birchflame was made into a warrior, given the name 'flame' for his bright personality and heart of a true warrior.
The life of a warrior;
Birchflame has spent the past few moons of being a warrior only going through the motions. He avoided border patrols in fear that there would be trespassers on MoonClan territory. Birchflame's biggest fear now is that he won't stop next time and he will kill his second cat.
Because of his lack of fighting and surplus of hunting missions, Birchflame has finally gotten to be a good enough hunter. Not nearly as good as many of the warriors of MoonClan but he managed to be better than the average apprentice at last.

His theme song is: none yet, but Pretty Handsome Awkward by the Used was good muse and great tone for making this. The anger in the song was excellent for writing about his past.
I pretty much just transferred him from the original vengeance.
