Darksong nodded at Hopemask's response, knowing there was nothing he could really do to adequately prepare her for what was about to happen. He sighed, picked up his moss bundles, and padded off to the elder's den beside Hopemask.
Twilightglow was sunning herself just outside the elder's den, occasionally lifting her head up to groom some of the copious amounts of fluffy fur on her body. Suddenly, she shot up to a sitting position, a familiar scent coming to her nostrils. She may have lost some vision and hearing in her old age, but no cat could trick her sense of smell. Darksong was drawing near, but his scent was lingering with something else...and it wasn't just moss.
It was impossible for Darksong to ignore her when he saw her sit up and stare at him. He dropped his moss just by the entrance to the den. "Evening, Twilightglow...." He tried to sound happy to see her, but it was easy to tell he wasn't.
"Oh hello dearie!" She said excitedly, "What brings you by today, anything going on?"
"The apprentices were being lazy today, so I've come by to change out the bedding in the elder's den..."
Twilightglow was about to thank him and say how lovely it was that he was doing this for her and the other elders, but she had more important things she wanted to talk about, "So who is this she-cat friend of yours?" She padded up to Hopemask, checking her over. Twilightglow of course knew that this was one of her clanmates, but she wasn't familiar with her.

Hopemask was not a fan of other she-cat's, she held distrust mostly because of what happened between her and her mother... she distrusted them, she feared abandonment, which was why she turned to toms, she held no father but her best friend had been a tom named Sockpaw, she at one point in time... perhaps loved him... but it was thanks to him she liked toms more then she-cat. She discouragedly followed after Darksong and put the moss down listening to him and Twilightglow. She listened to their conversation and could see instantly why Darksong disliked being... well not disliked... perhaps was annoyed? She didn't have time to check over since Twilightglow had approached her, needless to say she wasn't prepared for that or even enjoyed it. Her fur bristled right up, including her hackles, but she didn't dare attack the elder, she knew better, that even if this was a she-cat she had to respect her elders.... even ones invading her space. "Hopemask..." She muttered moving back a bit from her.

Seeing that Hopemask was not appreciative of her attention, Twilightglow backed off and went back over to Darksong. He had just finished coaxing a few other elders out of the den and was beginning to gather up the old bedding, so he wasn't impressed when Twilightglow barreled in and got in his way, "She's a sassy one, eh?" She said, in her whisper that wasn't really that quiet at all, "Although I could of guessed you'd be attracted to such she-cats."
"I'm not..." He began to say, bothered by her statement, but he stopped for fear of offending Hopemask. Darksong did have an attraction to her, there was no doubt about it, but whether or not he wanted anyone to know was a different story altogether. "Just nevermind...."
Twilightglow was intrigued, to say the least. It seemed her statement had hit a nerve in him. She continued to pry, "Well you know you can tell me these things...I did raise you!"
"There's nothing to tell." Darksong said flatly.

Hopemask sighed a bit as she backed off, she noticed Twilightglow call her Sassy. She smirked a bit, she had to admit she was sassy, towards females, she didn’t mind males getting closer to her. She looked around the elders den and wondered if she should save Darksong from… her. She decided against it and turned towards an elder she fixed up his den and offered a small smile towards him as he looked at her gratefully. She hated when others did that. She wasn’t a cat they should be grateful to, the only reason she was doing this was because of Darksong, she wouldn’t have done it otherwise, she would have nagged some apprentices into doing it. She looked towards Darksong having lost track of their conversation, she decided to tune back into it and see what was going on. “There is nothing to tell” Darksong had told Twilightglow, Hopemask blinked a bit, what had she missed? Were they talking… about her? She cursed herself and wished she had paid attention to it more closely.
